One of the most touching and unforgettable movies I have personally gone to see. When I first heard that it was coming out, I first thought... y, just another sappy and stupid girly movie that I won't go and see, and if I do, I'll get up and leave at some point and demand a refund." When it was all over, however, and I was on my way home that evening, my thoughts were totally different. In fact, after I got home that night and I was asked how the movie was, all I could say was "Wow!" Other than that, I was totally speechless, aside from the fact that I was still crying, though not as much or as bad as I had been during the movie and during the ride home afterwards (a girl I went to school with offered me a ride home as I left after the movie ended). I have also seen this film on DVD and on television at least ten times all told, and I NEVER get tired of seeing it. In fact, during the months leading up to the movie's release, many people were saying that the American cinema was LONG overdue for a movie that would touch so many people's hearts, though many critics hated it. Truly a very touching and beautful movie, and one worth seeing more than once. You should read the novel, as well; it's just as good. Full Review

A sensitively told story of first love that could have been more affecting with a little more grit and without so mawkish a score.Full Review
