  • I'm jazzed by every tasty, daring, devastating, howlingly funny, how'd-they-do-that minute in Birdman. Like all movies that soar above the toxic clouds of Hollywood formula and defy death at the box office, Alejandro G. Iñárritu's cinematic whirlwind will bring out the haters. They can all go piss off. Birdman is a volcano of creative ideas in full eruption. Buy a ticket and brace yourself. show more

  • This is a remarkable feat, not only of cinematography, but of choreography. Just to film Michael Keaton and Edward Norton walking down a Manhattan street, everything had to be timed as in a dance — when the camera swirls ahead, when it goes behind, when it swoops back around. It’s all accomplished so smoothly that it would be worth doing merely as a stunt, except this is no stunt. This method carries the mood and soul of one of the best movies of 2014. show more

  • One of the year's most audacious, savagely funny and unpredictable films, it features an outstanding performance by Michael Keaton as the has-been star of a superhero franchise desperate to be taken seriously. show more

It was different for sure.. I found it gor better as I got used to the format and in the end I was glad I saw it. My husband loved it too. I say give it a chance. If you like off beat, you'll be glad you did.

I was tricked by the critic reviews because this movie was awful. I should have gotten up and walked out but I wasn't finished with my popcorn. I didn't like the way it was filmed, it didn't make any sense and wasn't even a good story.

When I saw pro. critic ratings of "100" a red flag should have gone off. This is the Emperors clothing remix. Yes, it was not cookie cutter Hollywood, yet, it was arties ad nausem, to the point where nothing makes any sense (at least 2 us idiots who R not artists or critics). The later will make sense out of a roll of scrabble letters if it makes them look and feel good. Senseless - in a word. Birdman? I no the Keaton somehow got the roll of Batman for a bit. Was there ever a man who less fit the chactor of Bruce Wayne - strong, smart, handsome, etc. like Keaton? He did not have muscles in Batman - he had a suit which had muscles. A bird and a bat r 2 very different creatures. Calling the movie "Birdman" befuddled me because Birdman evokes memories of an old man in prison feeding birds as a mental escape, while in prison and Batman something else entirely. To cut 2 the quick, it was foolish, and if u no nothing of heroism (think soldiers & the original Batman), Birdman neither recalls the efforts of true heros nor comic book heros.
