Great movie! In the tradition of Hitchcock you know in advance how it will turn out, but the suspense is in trying to figure out how Cooper will get... caught. Cooper's quiet intensity and the cast's low-key acting throughout were perfect... But reading the posts here it appears most of today's movie fans are more entertained by reality TV! I only pray Hollywood doesn't surrender. . Full Review

Just saw the best intrigue as of late; and, no bang-em-up, bloody violence as in so much of today's media. Lot's of true deception by an... , but religious fanatic/sexual deviant. Cooper should be nominated for an academy award for his exceptional job of playing the part of Hanssen. Am anxious to read the book........... Full Review

if you are hoping for action...well this is one gun scene. other than that it does not have any action. Clever movie. intruiging under some... nces but it was slow and the fact is is that you knew they will catch the guy so after watching it, i am at loss of the point. catch it on DVD. it'll probably seem better. In this steadily gripping hothouse of a thriller, it's Cooper -- funny, fierce and bug-wild -- who gives us a look into the abyss.Full Review

In this film, everything comes down to the acting. Chris Cooper, one of our finest screen actors, gets inside the mysterious traitor. Ryan Phillippe has just the right gung-ho determination tempered with a touch of naivete as O'Neill. Meanwhile, Laura Linney nails the role of a career agent.Full Review
