Plot Summary
In this documentary, filmmaker Werner Herzog and a small crew are given a rare chance to film inside France's Chauvet Cave, where the walls are covered with the world's oldest surviving paintings. To preserve the art, people are allowed to enter the site for only two weeks a year. Examining the 30,000-year-old drawings, Herzog discusses how the artwork represents humanity's earliest dreams with scientists and art scholars conducting research at Chauvet.

I like shows about history, science, nature as those types of shows go this one wasn\'t bad. I call it a show because that is ************** have been, a show edited for a 60 minute slot on TV and the content being around 40-45 minutes, instead this dragged on for 90 minutes. One extremely annoying aspect of this show was the background music. Shows like this seem to feel you need to have constant noise or the show will not be interesting or suspenseful. This show chose to have choir music in every gap in the dialog trying to set a mood of reverence and spiritualism, all it did for me was to irritate. So in summary they could have told the story in 15 minutes without the annoying music and I would have given it five stars, they could have edited it for TV and again without the annoying music and I would have given it four stars. But they made it 90 minutes and had that god awful music so I gave it two stars.
