I was mesmerized!!! Beautifully done!
Snow bunny. Have you ever heard the expression, "sign of the times." Virtually all white men of his day, including scientists, and CLERGY,... did not under stand the concepts of Cultural Anthropology. Thankfully, his scientific endeavors forged a path to see the dawn of a new science called, "cultural anthropology. I see Darwin and one of the founding fathers of such enlightenment. Too bad you have such a critical view. Maybe you can consider how he saw the humanity in the orangutan, as proof that you were wrong. Bethh333 Full Review
My question is Why would anyone want to watch a movie about a man who was openly RACIST? Did you read what Darwin himself said in his writing... he Descent of Man"? "At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilized races of man will almost certainly exterminate, and replace the savage races throughout the world." Given our country's history with racism, why would we promote a movie that praises such a m Full Review
As always, they try to twist Darwin into being atheist when he wasn't. They quote Darwin's last words as being, "There is grandeur in this view... of life, [...] from so simple a beginning endless forms [...] most wonderful have been, and are being evolved." But they removed words from the original quote which weren't in accordance with their plot. The REAL quote from Origin of Species, last chapter, last paragraph, last sentence, reads: "There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been ORIGINALLY BREATHED by the CREATOR into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone circling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being evolved." -http://www.literature.org/author- s/darwin-charles/the-origin-of-spees-6th-edition/chapter-15.html He credited a Creator for starting life on Earth, not chance. Don't be fooled by the puppeteers. Full Review

Amiel's greatest achievement is that Creation is a deeply human film with moments of genuine lightness and high spirits to go with all the deep thinking.Full Review
I have a feeling the loss of their child and the state of their marriage were what most interested the backers of this film. They must have wanted to make a film about Darwin the man, not Darwin the scientist.Full Review
It helps that most of Creation is about the relationships - Darwin's with his wife and with his daughter. Even if we resist it, even if we don't want to be dragged in, the story of Annie becomes quite moving, almost unbearable.Full Review
Creation is a superbly creative exercise for its star, Paul Bettany, who plays Charles Darwin. But it's a subdued and meandering portrait of the conflicts underlying the development of the theory of evolution.Full Review
There are good performances and fleeting moments of exquisite moviemaking, but the experience as a whole is an evolutionary dead end.Full Review
