I loved the movie.....don't have a clue what the critics are talking about other then they are fustrated writers and directors. So much easier to... t something down then to do something on your own. This movie hits home for so many people. I think the gay scene are not only touching but for once real and it's time for that. Shame on you you homophobic critics. Full Review
I saw this movie last night at the ArcLight, it was amazing! What a refreshimg change from all the junk that is being released these days. I can... ly believe that critics don't like this. All I can think is that they are not comfortable with strong women and or gay males, what a shame in this day and age. The music is fantastic, I am going to buy the soundtrack. As one who was raised in the midwest durring the 80\"s the hairdo's and outfits were spot on! It was a walk down memory lane. If you are up for some great humor, I highly recommend this movie. I went for all the great Melissa Manchester tunes and wound up loving the movie as well. It's a terrific story with first-rate actors and... es. Melissa's music helped me through the rough days of being the closeted gay son of a minister in the late 70s and early 80s. It turns out there were a lot of us reached by her songs and DIrector Abe Silvia has done a terrific job of creating a soundtrack of her music for his joyful film the way it was a soundtradck for my life.
