The movie was a movie that I know was going to be good. The Characters were well developed, Ron Perlman's Hellboy was awesome and funny, and the Action scenes were really cool. Only one problem, to me... the sequel was better but I give it a strong 4 and a half out of 5. Full Review

As a superhero devotee, I like almost all superhero movies, their comics, and anything that is about heroes. And Hellboy is one in my list (I have buncha my fav heroes too!!)! That movie is sure is aw... esome (and the second one is great, and a much better- check out his Big Baby!)! Hellboy's a red demon who was rescued by the US gov't to the Earth from the Nazis and hired as a BPRD detective. Plus, he has a heart of gold! And I read his comics too (as always). I course Ron Perlman was a great match for him. He fights evil! And I love the way good monsters beat other monsters (just like the Hulk vs. Abomination). Anyway. That movie ROCKS! Full Review

Surprisingly smart, graphically faithful live-action adaptation of the Mike Mignola seriesFull Review

Guillermo del Toro is in a class with Peter Jackson as a fan-boy who gets it--a brilliant filmmaker who has a kind of metabolic connection to horror and sci-fi that helps him transform secondhand genre material into something deep and nourishing. Del Toro reaches into himself and finds the Wagnerian grandeur in schlock.Full Review

A perfect fit in the category of instant classic, and, not incidentally, fits the profile of super-profitability. Bursting the bonds of its genre, Hellboy fills the screen with gorgeous imagery, vertiginous action and a surprising depth of feeling.Full Review
