The actors can't perform miracles. Hot dogs are served in the final scene, but trust me, Hyde Park on Hudson is no picnic. show more
Mr. Murray gives a fascinating performance, even though his FDR was conceived and written as a fairly small guy at the center of a small film that, for all its considerable charm, miniaturizes its hero in the process of humanizing him. show more
Murray and Linney are terrific together (and apart), their notes pitch perfect, and the supporting cast is good all around. show more
Maybe one star. Bill Murray was totally miscast - he didn\'t have the aristocratic look or manner of speech that FDR had. The plot was weak, and the movie dragged.
Hated it. Don\'t believe it.Wanted to hear speeches and serious discussions at a very critical time in history.
This movie is slow and a disappointment. They did not portray in the move the many admirable things that Roosevelt did as president, instead they focus o his relationship with his distant cousin. If they were going to go through the trouble of making a movie about his life, you would think that would have done it about his admirable contributions to society - not the smut that is out there. Wait for the the DVD!!
