  • The greatest fascination is watching these three people when they're planted firmly inside the frame, talking at cross-purposes while trying to perceive one another in the reflected light of their needs and risky assumptions. show more

  • With an attention to the telling detail that one finds in a great short story, Kiarostami guides Takanashi and Okuno - and then Kase - through the mischievous and melancholy tale. It is quiet. It is lovely. And it will stay with you for a long time. show more

This was really boring. Not to mention the synopsis is totally inaccurate, Akiko is not surprised to find the client is an elderly academic, she never asks him anything and immediately crawls into bed and falls asleep. The story line seems to have been cobbled together by some junior high kids.
