Exceptional. Meek's Cutoff is a casting masterpiece. Michelle Williams gives an awesome performance as usual, but Bruce Greenwood steals the show. Greenwood gives an Oscar-worthy performance playing Stephen Meek, a know-it-all, heavily bearded man, who is contracted to lead three families out to the new west. As smart as Meek claims to be, the families soon lose confidence with his navigational

zeer slechte film, het is het verhaal van een groep mensen die met huifkarren naar een bestemming reizen en de weg kwijt zijn en op den duur zonder water komen te zitten.

If there's anything good about this movie I can't find it. Nothing happened. It ended abruptly with no resolution. There were no compelling characters. The woman who was supposed to be the heroine spoke in an almost inaudible monotone throughout the whole film. A big waste of time. Tremendously boring.

This movie was so bad, I signed up just to review it. I agree with others, a waste of a few hours of my life and the ending may well be the worst I've ever seen. This was a pretty bad movie. If you're a history buff and you think you're going to see a movie about the Oregon Trail and Steven Meek you are in for a big surprise. This film depicts Meek leading THREE wagons, history will tell you there were 200. There is no storyline on any of the characters except for their names. There are times when it's very difficult to hear what is even being said,

Meek's Cutoff is as unsentimental and determined as Ms. Williams's character, its absolutely believable heroine. It is also a bracingly original foray into territory that remains, in every sense, unsettled. Full Review

In this quiet, beautiful and terrifying fable about a group of lost pioneers, Reichardt combines epic ambition with a focus on intimate, personal detail. Full Review

A mesmerizing cinematic journey that is often as arduous and spare as the lives of its hard-bitten protagonists. Full Review

A lyrical poem for some, like watching paint dry for others. I'd argue for embracing the poetic, a rare commodity in American films these days. Full Review
