This movie, makes every bride-to-be think about the family she has to "marry" into; Jane Fonda(Coming Home... 41;,and Jennifer Lopez(brilliant star of Selena),match wits together."Charlie" finally meets the great man of her dreams and is set to marry him.The only trouble is,her beau's mother.Violet is a widow, and does anything to stir up trouble for her "precious" son.It is comical and hilarious, as the two ladies go head-to-head in the matrimonial "war of wits".Violet gets vicious and hateful, in her "reign" of iron.She suddenly has a change of heart ,when someone teaches her a few things about romance. I love Violet's mother-in-law,who is brilliant at the end of the film.She makes Violet learn a hard "lesson" about love.I applaud Fonda and Lopez and say Bravo, for their sweet performances here !
