  • Director/co-writer/cinematographer, Yam Laranas, still delivers a maximum of suspense and horror, working wonders with a small budget. show more

  • For a spell, the film gets by on its unpretentious flair for atmosphere, even its disconcerting nonsensicality. show more

  • Yam Laranas doesn't leave it at that. In his low-budget, creepy thriller, he spells out why and how this particular path is so deadly, as well as what led to the crimes and supernatural horror that seem to frequent the place. show more

If you look at On The Road as a snapshot of the Beat Generation during the 1940s and 1950s then you\'ll probably appreciate it for what it is. I actually liked it. I thought it captured what was going on during the same decade that produced McCarthyism, J.D. Salinger and Elvis Presley.

I haven't felt this soiled since "The Rum Diaries!" This tawdry, drug-laden, chain-smoking mumble-fest is confusing, the geography makes my head spin, the shoplifting and car stealing are NOT funny, the orgies, the threesomes, and the reckless driving all with no visible means of support.
