  • The acting is of the highest caliber. Winger, magnificent and too long between films, is a volcano of repressed anger. show more

  • The life that swirls around Kym before, during and after her sister's densely populated, wonderfully detailed wedding seems to have been caught on the fly in all its sweetness, sadness and joy. (In its free-form style the film constitutes an elaborate homage to Robert Altman.) show more

  • Jonathan Demme's superb rule-bending, heartrending and family-mending drama - ends with a wedding, it resists conventions as brazenly as does the bride's sister. show more

I enjoyed this movie immensely. I admittedly came end as a Anne Hathaway groupie but, her performace as Kym surprised me on how good it was. She really nailed the role of a troubled, self centered young woman like her character in Havoc. I think the rest of cast did a great job in playing their characters. None of the performaces felt contrived. Some people in their reviews of this movie didn't seem to like the multi-racial, multi ethnic wedding crowd. They felt something about the environment rang false. Well, I can say that I know folks like this, bohemian, artsy and they behave in these manner. People who have attented them rave about how cool Indian weddings are. I could imagine someone wanting to have an Indian themed wedding even if they're not Indian.

This is the worst film that I have ever seen. It is disjointed , unfocused, poorly acted and a total waste of my time.
