Brimming with humor and heartbreak, Slumdog Millionaire meets at the border of art and commerce and lets one flow into the other as if that were the natural order of things. show more

It doesn't happen often, but when it does, look out: a movie that rocks and rolls, that transports, startles, delights, shocks, seduces. A movie that is, quite simply, great. show more

What's perhaps most fascinating about the film is Boyle's relentless focus on the realities of present-day India as a vehicle for his spectacle and laughs. show more

A terrific yarn, one so engrossing and surprising that the nature of the story's structure -- each question Jamal gets asked on the show corresponds with a traumatic or momentous moment from his childhood -- never feels like a contrived framing device. show more

I don't understand what was so great about this movie. It was disconnected. It didn'y makre sense. And the dancing scene at the end did not go with the story. I wish Bwjamin Button had won best picture

I am a 48 year old American male and I love everything from Gone With the Wind to the Terminator. I like 95% of all the westerns and about the same with documentaries and most genres, BUT SLUM DOG IS ONE OF THE WORST MOVIES I HAVE EVER SEEN , PERIOD . Everybody I watched it with said the same thing, it was junk. I have enjoyed watching paint dry better, this movie is junk. Everybody we saw it with was wondering if we even saw the right movie that won all the academy awards. This movie is not worth watching on cable if all the other channels where not available. I am just shocked to say the least.

Brilliant storyline, lovable characters, and eye-opening. This was a great film and easy to see why it won so many Oscars.

NO MATTER IN WHAT LANQUAGE ALTHOUGH MOSTLY ENGLISH. THIS HAD A TREMENDOUS STORYLINE THAT WILL KEEP YOU FACINATED. IT BUILDS UP AND EXPLAINS EACH INTERVAL OF BECOMING A SLUM DOG MILLIONAIRE. AND IN THE POOREST OF CONTINENTS THE CORRUPTION OF EVER LIVING AN AMERICAN DREAM DOES NOT EXIST FOR ANYONE ELSE UNLESS THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES. A MUST SEE FOR EVERYONE. THAT UNDERSTANDS MOVIES AND THE CONTRAST OF GOOD AND BRILLIANT:

This is a great movie! I don't know what the people making negative comments about it are talking about. I saw it before it won and now I am taking my teenage daughters to see it. Beautiful cimematography, great story, good acting- go see it. It is worth it and should be seen in a theater. I don't think the effect will be as great on a small screen.
