Looks aren't everything. Case in point: Sucker Punch, a dazzling visual design that goes tone-deaf every time it opens its dumb mouth or makes claims to profundity. show more

Though Zack Snyder is known as an action director, he is a genuine artist and one of the most exciting and promising filmmakers to emerge in the past 10 years. His new movie, Sucker Punch - let's just say it - is a failure, but there's so much talent on that screen that the movie can't be dismissed as a waste of time. show more

You've never seen a movie like Sucker Punch. And depending on your entertainment preferences, you may not want to. show more

Hands-down the most nightmarishly awful film of the year. show more

If I were to guess how Hollywood envisions the inside of a teenage boy's brain, it would look exactly like Zack Snyder'sSucker Punch." show more

Certain to create a gaping divide between generational and aesthetic camps, Sucker Punch is a largely grim and unpleasant display of technical wizardry wrapped around a story that purports to be inspirational. show more

Punch manages to cram more slow motion into its first few minutes than a season of NFL highlights, all of "Inception" and every one of those NBC promos where the casts of whatever failing police procedural walk menacingly towards the camera. show more

No, Sucker Punch doesn't make any sense. But none of that matters, because the ride Snyder takes you on is so vividly conceived, so deliriously bizarre and wonderful. show more

It's a surprisingly joyless mash-up of every bit of fanboy flotsam floating around in its maker's cranium. show more

Typical teenage boy\'s favorite movie with a twist of intriguing plot and a semblance of quality writing.

. V Sorry, about the censors in my review below. I was trying to say half - undressed girls or under-dressed girls since apparently "n-a-k-e-d" is a terrible word. . . . V

Scary really If youve lived any \"tough life\" at all you have to be able to relate to this movie. If you look beyond the outfits which seem to draw the eyes of most critics instead of the underlying sense of hopelessness and empowerment and loss, it seems like a scifi romp with some sexy women. The situation these women are in is an \"animated\" but terrifying real life story for many young woman the world around. If you havent experienced anything that happened in the first 15 minutes of the movie yourself keep your limited views limited. Great job all the way around. Loved Carla Gugino!

Science Fiction movies have become rehashed comic book heros with even sillier plots. Now women are portrayed as scantily clad, showing lots of cleavage and naked thighs, who have a universal abilty to fall from great heights and land on one knee. For a while, heroines were given non-sexual roles that previously were reserved for men. Thanks to Sigourney Weaver\'s character, Ripley, in Alien, women could finally be taken as serious heroes. But now movie makers have returned to sexually ing displays amied at young males rather than any serious plot content

A full-scale total blast. With \"Sucker Punch\", Zack Snyder proved he\'s not just a one-hit wonder. After the dissapointingly overlong and overblown \&*************\", he really had to step his game up on his next feature.I am proud to say this time,he did not dissapoint.Much credit has to be given to Snyder and co-writer Steve Shibuya for crafting a film that is visually arresting as it is inventive,as well as dramatically gripping and suspenseful. The cast of beautiful young women shine the whole way through, particularly Emily Browning as the quiet radical Babydoll, and espicially Jena Malone as her balls-to-the-wall prison mate Rocket. A particular nasty villain is born in Oscar Isaac\'s Blue, who is very soft-spoken, but also very deadly. And the action sequences are literally out of this world-From Giant samurai warriors to distant planets,as well as a little \"Dungeons & Dragons\",mixed with zombie nazis, and you have a action fantasy that just like the recent \"Tron:Legacy\",is one of most original action films to come along in some time.My suggestion on this one: F#$k the critics and have yourself a good time. You will be unprepared.
