Killer Elite pretends to be fact-based and true to its 1980s period. Just know it's all baloney. show more

Director-co-writer Gary McKendry seems to know a thing or two about hard-fisted fight scenes, but he muddies up the visuals with obligatory spasms of shaky-cam. show more

    Steven Rea Philadelphia Inquirer

Loaded with careening car chases and rooftop runs, glass-shattering shootouts and exploding fireballs, Killer Elite offers more than enough to keep action junkies happy. show more

When Robert De Niro, Clive Owen and Jason Statham unite for an action thriller, we should be able to expect something special. Or at least memorable. Instead, Killer Elite gives us ordinary. show more

    Todd McCarthy The Hollywood Reporter

This muscular thriller--led by Jason Statham, Clive Owen and Robert De Niro--strives to be a genuinely good film, but unwilling to let go of proven formulas, it falls short. show more

The picture, the debut feature of Irish director Gary McKendry, is rote and joyless, an exercise in disposability. show more

This is actually a pretty good thriller, based more on character and plot than on action for its own sake. The need to construct killings that look like accidents adds to the interest. show more

A snarly Euro-thriller with crust under its fingernails and bad breath. It doesn't care if you like it, which is why I kind of do. show more

Despite having a perfect cast for a title like Killer Elite, Gary McKendry's feature debut comes across as little more than a generic Jason Statham movie with two high-profile guest stars. show more

Killer Elite is pleasurable enough, but with a steadier hand, it could've been one for the books. show more

On the outside, Killer Elite seems to be an awesome action flick with an amazing cast and it being based on the true story of Danny Bryce. But on the inside, its not that great. It has no main conflict really and it is basically another Jason Statham movie. Blood, Sex, and Violence are the keywords in this film. I was dissapointed about about all these flaws in this movie.

A solid action movie - A solid spy-action set-up with just the right amount of DeNiro. A great Spy-twister with a limited backstory, but enough action to make up for the difference. Well worth the $6 On-Demand! Statham and Owen make this an enjoyable action bit, while seeing DeNiro in a slightly more subdued, although still exciting, role is just what the Dr. ordered.

An intriguing story with a poorly written screenplay. Movies made from books must transform the story into seemingly real life. Books can get away with sappy, and even melodramatic dialogue; not so much in movies. It takes a great screenwriter to achieve the transition from book to movie. This one failed.

Good movie. Entertaining. I am a big Jason and Owen fan. Prefer them in more intellectually stimulating action adventure films, but this was a good one.

Enjoyed this action movie especially with Owen Clive and Jason who are my favorites. Movie keeps you guessing-(complicated) --- ending overall gave a good message -- not in it for the money!!!!--

Good movie, with dumb ending. Why would he not care about the money or give it to his enemy to enable enemy to not only survive but possibly seek vengence or revenge---just didn\'t imake sense for a real assasin or anyone even a little bit --street-wise. Good action and entertaining until---Lame ending that really didn\'t bring about a conclusion.
