Plot Summary
Lovely Lian Wha (Helen Hayes) is heralded within San Francisco's Chinatown for her kindness and beauty. Yet, for all her admirers, she has eyes only for curious college student Tom Lee (Ramon Novarro). When she hears that her homeland's rebellion against their cruel ruler is in dire need of funds, Lian selflessly sets her own happiness aside and offers herself as a bride to the highest bidder, the nefarious Fen Sha (Warner Oland). Her sacrifice inspires Tom to perform his own act of bravery.
