The mother, expertly played by Bette Midler comes into her life when needed most. Midler is hilarious, full of life, and almost stalks her daughter into allowing her to part of
What on earth has happened to Helen Hunt? She looks emaciated and old in the face! She was never a beauty but now she is downright ugly.
The movie was directed by Helen Hunt. Why she kept herself as the main character star in this movie is beyond me. Helen Hunt looks too thin, masked any new creative interpretation of this main character while maintaining Helen Hunt's usual interpretation and style of acting. Bette Midler was refreshing as was Colin Firth. The story line was interesting but ruined by Helen Hunt's presence.
This could have been a very nice story line. However, the unnecessary use of the F-word made this movie extremely uncomfortable for me. The backseat seen also took away from the warm fuzzy feeling of Helen Hunt and Colin Firth's relationship. I have no desire to ever see it again.
Am I the only one that noticed the microphone throughout the entire movie. What was that about? How do u not see that in editing?
