Loren's performance is as tonally off as the rest of Bergmann's jokey lark, which strings together characters and twists with amateurishly chaotic abandon. show more

A Surreal Comic Gem! Many critics have missed the boat on this one and because itâs quirky theyâve dished it as just another failed indie comedy. The fact is, this film is a surreal comedy and if youâre adventurous and want to see something unusual, not starring the pretty flavored actress of the month, check out Bonnie Lorenâs performance in âTied to a Chairâ! Being a surreal comedy, the film doesnât traffic in logic, rather, it delights in the unexpected image and scenario. Ms. Loren is delightfully true and real as a frustrated housewife whoâs missed the boat for her dreams as an actress by marrying a snooty British gentleman who barely honors her thespian aspirations. Faster than you can say, âwatch meâ she turns her life around and catches that said boat to wherever it may take herâ¦.and it takes her into some very dicey waters. Loren carries the film, but all supporting players are spot on performance-wise and funny
