"A fearless French woman attempting to run her family's coffee plantation in an unnamed African country.."might well read "...single minded woman produces reenactment of final scenes of Hamlet." Both the description and the trailer mislead the reader. The character portrayed by Hubbert revealed life lived without grounding eventually leads to seeing others' lives as cheaper than her coffee, and what goes 'round comes round. If the movie's aim was to show that the insanity of a society that produces armed gangs of children also cheapens life for other races willing to live in it, then maybe it was a success. But did 102 minutes of minimal script and posed facial expressions to deliver that message constitute a good movie? It didn't for me.

I DON'T SAY THIS OFTEN BUT I JUST 'HATE' THIS MOVIE. MONEY DEFINITELY WASTED! WAS VERY BORED BECAUSE THIS MOVIE IS SO USUAL AND THE SUBTITLES WERE UNREADABLE.; THE PLOT WAS CONFUSING, CHARACTERS WERE CONNECTED BUT FEW AUDIENCE MEMBERS KNEW HOW OR WHY AND I JUST COULDN'T GET OVER HOW ALL THE AFRICANS WERE BEING SLAUGHTERED TO DEATH AND THIS FRENCH WOMAN CRIED ON AN AFRICAN WOMAN'S SHOULDER, PROFUSELY, BECAUSE SHE WAS TTIRED, SHE SAID.
