Disney welcomed 2016 with a special look at the new princess in town: "Moana."

A 14-year-old native Hawaiian girl named Auli'i Cravalho won the voice role, and now you can see the first (super brief) footage of her character in this sneak peek promoting the November movie:

Already rooting for the pig and the rooster.

As they note in the video, Moana is a teen who leaves her island home to explore what's beyond the horizon. Along the way, she teams up with a "once powerful demi-god" named Maui (Dwayne Johnson). Because this is a musical, we're going to hear the characters sing, including tunes from Dwayne Johnson. Yep, that smell is The Rock cooking up some Disney lyrics.

We're on standby for the first official "Moana" trailer, but it sounds like the film is still being put together; the star tweeted this photo and update on January 4:

If you missed it, you should watch the cute behind-the-scenes clip where Auli'i learns she won the role of Moana. "Moana" is scheduled for release in theaters on November 23, 2016.
