Henry Cavill's mustache earned itself MustacheGate headlines last year when the "Mission: Impossible - Fallout" team wouldn't allow him to shave the stache for "Justice League" reshoots. "Justice League" ended up using CGI to erase Cavill's mustache as Superman, and it looked weird.

Cavill has a great sense of humor about everything -- including his own death hoax -- so of course he created a video to show off his new "completely clean-shaven" look.

"It's hard for me to admit, this is not CGI. He's really gone. I can tell you this, though. I will remember him. Always."

Cue a montage of mustache clips, set to Sarah McLachlan's "I Will Remember You."

Sniff. [wipes tear] That really got me. Deep breath. It's OK. We'll see "him" again in "Mission: Impossible -- Fallout," which opens in theaters July 27th.

And then the Oscars had better include this 'stache in the 2018 In Memoriam video.
