"Roseanne" is no more, because of Roseanne. Even Roseanne Barr isn't defending her actions. (Instead, she's blaming Ambien.)

But!

The "Roseanne" revival was ABC's most popular new show, and it wasn't just because of Roseanne. What about John Goodman's Dan Conner, Laurie Metcalf's Jackie, both Beckys, etc.?

Some fans suggested ABC split the difference -- dump Roseanne, and give the rest of the stars their own spinoff. Punish the right person while not punishing the rest of the "Roseanne" cast and crew or the fans.

Jimmy Kimmel had some fun with the ABC headlines, since "Jimmy Kimmel Live" also airs on the network. He offered a similar suggestion, saying "Roseanne" should just dump Roseanne and change its title to "Dan":

It sounds like ABC is seriously exploring spinoff/new show options, but there's a downside. Here's some context from Entertainment Weekly:

"Here's the challenge, though: Roseanne was created by Roseanne Barr. The characters were conceived by her and Matt Williams. If the sitcom were to continue without the matriarch, the actress would still benefit financially. So a key insider informs EW that discussions will continue today on whether it makes sense to keep the other actors but potentially design a new series around them — ergo, the Bonners, or whatever you want to call Goodman, Metcalf, and the clan of misfits."

Other shows (including "Lucifer") are already hoping to benefit from the "Roseanne" loss. We'll have to watch that 2018-2019 schedule space to see what ABC does.

If you have ideas, say them loud and proud now while the execs are still probably in meetings about what to do.
