That was fast. Last night's news that a "Ghostbusters 3" was in the works with director Jason Reitman is followed by the first teaser trailer (yes, already!).

The teaser has absolutely no footage from the upcoming movie, but provide a few hints about what to expect.

"Ghostbusters 3" is a direct follow-up to the 1984 original and 1989 sequel (both of which were directed by Jason's father, Ivan Reitman). The teaser shows a remote barn housing the old Ecto-1 underneath a tarp, suggesting that the original crew (played by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and the late Harold Ramis) are long retired. But judging by the sparks in the barn,  it looks like someone is tinkering around with a proton pack.

"This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot," Reitman explained. "What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day."

He added, "We have a lot of wonderful surprises and new characters for the audience to meet."

Will Murray, Aykroyd, and Hudson will be involved somehow? Perhaps Sigourney Weaver, too? Or could it be a next generation kind of thing involving their kids? Only time will tell.
