Kevin Hart and Paramount Pictures are developing a remake of the 1988 Christmas comedy "Scrooged," which starred Bill Murray as a cynical TV executive.

Hart will likely star as the Scrooge-like main character, who needs to be visited by three ghosts to stop being such a selfish jerk.

"Scrooged," directed by Richard Donner, was a moderate box office hit, but its irreverent take on the Charles Dickens classic helped make it a cult favorite.

The busy Hart is getting ready to  shoot "Fatherhood," Sony’s adaptation of the tear-jerking best-seller "Two Kisses for Maddie."

And he's back as angry rabbit Snowball in "The Secret Life of Pets 2," which opens today.
