What's worse than having an overbearing helicopter mom, hovering over your every life choice? Having that mom being "Maleficent."

Disney dropped a new trailer for "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil," the sequel to the 2014 fairy tale hit. Angelina Jolie returns as the titular fairy,  who has been raising Aurora (Elle Fanning) as her own daughter. But Maleficent disapproves when Aurora gets engaged to Prince Phillip (Harris Dickinson) and the situation gets even more tense when the fairy godmother meets Aurora's future mother-in-law, Queen Queen Ingrith (Michelle Pfeiffer).

When Ingrith declares that Aurora will "finally get the love of a real mother," Maleficent goes nuclear.

A deeper mystery seems to be afoot, as well, with Chiwetel Ejiofor appearing at the end of the trailer as a leader of a group of fairies. Has Maleficent finally found her family?

"Maleficent: Mistress of Evil" opens in theaters October 18.
