Jonathan Sehring

Jonathan Sehring

Jonathan Sehring Biography

Jonathan Sehring is a producer. He was on the team that launched the Independent Film Channel in 1994 and then created IFC Films and IFC Prods, notably funding the Oscar fave “Boyhood” for its 12 years of production. Under Sehring’s leadership, the company launched the genre label IFC Midnight and, in 2009, Sundance Selects to distribute prestige films focusing on American independents, documentaries and world cinema.

Sehring led IFC Films’ theatrical/VOD day-and-date release model, touted as the first company to put out films this way. IFC pics include “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” Steven Soderbergh’s “Che,” Miranda July’s “Me and You and Everyone We Know” and Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 9/11.” He departed IFC at the end of 2018.
