With Oscar Isaac leading the cast (and also nabbing a producer credit), new Netflix-backed, Vegas-set TV drama ‘The Roman’ is adding to its already considerable cast.
The likes of Clancy Brown (‘Highlander’), Vincent D’Onofrio (‘Men in Black’), Kate Mara (‘The Martian’), Jason Schwartzman (‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World’) and Thomas Sadoski (‘John Wick’) are all joining the show.
The new show, set in the high-stakes casino world (more on that in a moment) already boasts Betty Gilpin (‘GLOW'), Alec Baldwin (‘The Departed'), David Costabile (‘Billions’), Shalom Brune-Franklin (‘Baby Reindeer’) and Jimmy O. Yang (‘Crazy Rich Asians’).

What’s the story of ‘The Roman’?
Created by ‘Billions’ duo Brian Koppelman and David Levien (who also have a little Sin City scripting cred thanks to their work on ‘Ocean's Thirteen’), ‘The Roman’ is an hourlong drama set in the high-stakes, sharp-elbowed present-day Las Vegas casino business, which is a modernized but still dangerous version of the legendary city.
At the center stands Robert “Bobby Red” Redman (Isaac), president of the hottest hotel casino in town, who has to make some long-odds moves to try and secure his position and take more ground.
When will ‘The Roman’ be on screens?
Given that the show has yet to start rolling the cameras (or the dice), we wouldn’t expect to see this before 2027 at the earliest.
