The long-delayed "The New Mutants" is coming to theaters ... eventually. Promise.

That's what producer Simon Kinberg told Digital Spy, confirming that rumored reshoots will take place later this year.

The horror-tinged "X-Men" spinoff was originally slated for release in February 2019. Then it was pushed back to August. After Disney took over 20th Century Fox, "New Mutants" was delayed once again to April 3, 2020.

"What's happening is we're gonna do reshoots this year on that film and it has a new release date from Disney. That's really it," said Kinberg (who is the director of the upcoming "Dark Phoenix").

"Part of it was figuring out what the reshoots were gonna be, the pick-ups, and the other part of it was getting that cast back together."

The cast includes Anya Taylor-Joy, "Game of Thrones" alum Maisie Williams, "Stranger Things" actor Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, and Henry Zaga.

Several of the stars are or have been busy making television shows (did you hear "Game of Thrones" recently ended?), as Kinberg noted.

"We've got to wait until they get off their shows and they can all be in the same place at the same time," he explained.

Kinberg also joked that Fox may need to take a page from a rival studio when it comes to organizing its calendar.

"Marvel's really brilliant at scheduling pick-ups into their budget and schedule so it's all prepared, and we have never been that smart," he said.

"For us, we're always scrambling to get these actors back together so they're all in the same place at the same time."
