The 2016 Oscars are this Sunday, February 28, but the 2017 Academy Awards may just nominate "Captain America: Civil War" for Best Picture. Oooooor they may not. But Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson/Falcon, is throwing superlatives around about the third Cap movie, which comes out May 6.

Here's what he told BBC Radio (via Heroic Hollywood):

"It's Marvel's best movie thus far... It's really, really good. It's because it's more of an acting movie than an action movie. I feel like the story is very concise and interesting, and you get to see Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans and Scarlett Johannson and Mark Ruffalo and everybody just do really, really good acting. And then there's action in it. I think it might be the first superhero movie that might be up for Best Picture."

Oh, really? The Oscars push is interesting, but this interview was also singled out by outlets for the mention of Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/The Hulk). Up to this point, The Hulk wasn't expected to be in "Civil War," but Mackie also said in the interview that "They tie each story into the next movie," which Heroic Hollywood took as a possible hint that the Hulk will be in a post-credits scene to tie into "Thor: Ragnarok."

Hulk or no Hulk, the hype is real on "Civil War" so we'll have to wait and see if critics and audiences agree about the high level of awesome.
