Tom E. Lewis Biography

Born Balang Lewis in Ngukurr, Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, he was an Aboriginal perso of the Murrungun people. His first major role was in The Chant of Jimmy Blacksmith (1978). He had a long filmography of 16 movies and tv roles spanning from 1978 to 1918. He was also a musician and was awarded the Red Ochre Award in 2006 by the Australian Council for the Arts for lifetime achievement.
