In 1963, journalist Gloria Steinem (Kirstie Alley) is asked by Show magazine to write a story exposing the realities of working as a waitress at Hugh Hefner's New York Playboy Club. Posing as a wannabe Bunny named Marie, Steinem learns the tricks of the trade from the experienced Margie (Delta Burke). While Steinem comes to value and appreciate her fellow bunnies, the experience is so profoundly degrading that it solidifies her strong views on feminism.
