Even when you know what's coming, Crazy Heart haunts you like a classic country song. It's a mesmerizer. So is Bad Blake. This dude also abides. show more

Perhaps the idea of watching Jeff Bridges as a drunken, broken-down, down-on-his luck country music singer in Crazy Heart doesn't automatically sound appealing. But think this: "The Wrestler." With good songs. show more

Crazy Heart, based on a 1987 novel by Thomas Cobb, also has great music. Even if you're not a country music fan, the songs, by T Bone Burnett and the late Stephen Bruton, are infectious. show more

Crazy Heart is blessed with so many marvelous moments, lovely lines and vivid characters. show more

Crazy Heart is the real thing, and a real gem. show more

Gyllenhaal is charming and makes unexpected choices in her performance, but this is Bridges' show, and he's as Best Actor-worthy as he's ever been. show more

Crazy Heart lacks that spark of originality. So what Fox Searchlight has salvaged essentially is a highly watchable performance by Bridges, one of many he has furnished throughout a long career. show more

Jeff Bridges is a virtual certainty to win his first Oscar, after four nominations. show more

Can’t possibly deserve your close attention. Yet it does, with distilled honky-tonk poetry and generous good humor. It’s one of the year’s best, most deeply felt films. show more

The music is terrific, as it should be in a movie where T Bone Burnett wrote the songs with Stephen Bruton. show more

Write your review here... I cant be the first to think this, but I would swear that the Bowling ally, the first place he played in the movie, was the same bowling ally in "The Big Lewboski" did anyone else notice this, or am I wrong? I really liked the movie. Watched it 2 times. I'm looking forward to "True grit". And rumor is fast spreading for those "Dude" fans, that there's a Big Lewboski II in the works true or not? AWESOME MOVIE! I was so impressed with both Brydges and Farrell's singing talent. How does a young man from Dublin sound like a country boy from the USA? AMAZING! Brydges played the part of Bad PERFECTLY! His Daddy would be proud!

Over-rated but a good movie. Demon drink has ruined many a life, but made others happy. Bridges does a fine (but not great) acting job. This is a 3 1/2 (out of 5). star movie, that I will rate as 3.

Worse movie I have seen in years....if he couldn't have said GD there would be no dialogue.

Very disappointing, expected him to make a big comeback as a singer, not a songwriter. He got sober, but he lost the girl.

movie was slow and about 30 minutes longer than needed. i didn't buy the pretty, skinny, healthy and much younger writer falling for jeff bridges' loser character . also, addicts are rarely sympathetic characters..it's hard to pull for them

Almost 2 hours of chain smoking, gagging, alcohol abusing, puking, passed out on the bathroom floor Major Trama Drama and irresponsible behavior. I saw enough of that in real life to get any enjoyment out of a "well made/well acted" movie.

I am not a big Jeff Bridges fan but did think this might be a good movie. I was disappointed in the music part of it and I thought alot of it was just plain disgusting.

Really enjoyed. The music is genuine country. Story line is simple but enjoyable. Oops used enjoyable again. Guess that's as far as I can go. Lots worse out there. JB winning Oscar - not sure. Liked MF in Invictus better.
