  • The true audiences for Fifty Shades of Grey are gluttons for punishment — by boredom. show more

  • The enormous, make-or-break things are perfectly in place, and just that is enough for a reasonably enjoyable movie. But plot problems, some comically weak dialogue, repetitious scenes and a non-ending ending keep the experience a little more earthbound than it had to be. show more

  • Sitting through the turgid and tedious S&M melodrama that is Fifty Shades of Grey may feel like its own form of torture. show more

1st: I have read the series and loved them! No matter where you went, people were talking about these books. When I heard they were making a movie I was excited yet nervous, as casting would play a HUGE part, making or breaking it. 2nd: Dakota Johnson was the worst decision, her lack of emotion and acting skills made me wonder, who did she go into the playroom with to get this part?? There was NO chemistry between the two actors. Jamie Dornan would not have been my first choice for Christian, however, he delivered. 3rd: The screenplay was horrible. I understand that books are edited & changed, we expect that. However, the storyline was choppy, scenes jumping from one another with NO flow. I was looking at my watch most of time. There have been MANY books made into movies that are a huge success: Twilight, Hunger Games, Harry Potter, etc. This is NOT one of them! HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! 4th, great PR team to release on V-Day, only way Hollywood can make any $ with all the hype.

2 hours of boredom, I think if had they had more mature actors, this would have been great….no real story line,….disappointing end…

Loved the movie alone with the book. It is best to watch it with your lover. Now you get to try things that you might always wanted to do. Can't wait until there are more movies and books like this. I am not getting any complaints. :-)
