Loved it.

In the theater I was originally taken aback at the foul-mouth of the young character called Hit Girl, ************ the entire story sort of... smoothed things over, escpecially when I learned of her background and upbringing. After that, I absolutely fell in love with the movie and ALL of it's characters. This has to be one of the best action pictures of all time. I think is was kind of a sleeper in the theaters, but it has taken off incredibly since the video was released. Do a search for Kick-Ass on You-Tube and you'll be amazed at what you find. The movie exhibits great acting, phenomenal f/x, and an awsome musical score that really accents the storyline. One of the final sequence scores is entitled "Flying Home" and is easily the new millineum "Rocky" theme to me. Be a kid again...RENT THE VIDEO. ENJOY!!! Full Review

It brings together several popular strains of contemporary moviemaking and combines them into one big, shameless, audacious, compulsively watchable, irresistibly likable piece of pure entertainment.Full Review

Mick LaSalle

Equal parts audacious dark comedy, wish-fulfillment fantasy and over-the-top, tongue-in-cheek action-adventure.Full Review

The best superhero movie since "The Dark Knight" (and far less serious in tone or approach), Kick-Ass earns its name in every way.Full Review

James Berardinelli
ReelViews

An enjoyably supercharged and ultraviolent teen-rebel comic-book fantasy that might be described -- in spirit, at least -- as reality-based.Full Review

Its balancing act between innocence and gore perfectly matches the expectations of genre fans, who should embrace the movie.Full Review
