If you look at On The Road as a snapshot of the Beat Generation during the 1940s and 1950s then you'll probably appreciate it for what it is. I actually liked it. I thought it captured what was going on during the same decade that produced McCarthyism, J.D. Salinger and Elvis Presley.

I haven't felt this soiled since "The Rum Diaries!" This tawdry, drug-laden, chain-smoking mumble-fest is confusing, the geography makes my head spin, the shoplifting and car stealing are NOT funny, the orgies, the threesomes, and the reckless driving all with no visible means of support.

This movie sucks! Its as uninspired and unoriginal as its tittle,On the Road (seriously? no one strained any muscles coming up with that tittle) spends 3 hours trying to portray its characters as young dynamic pseudo-intellectuals, but all I saw were annoying vagabonds who were contently smoking, drinking, and jerking each other off.
