The movie comes on like a put-on--next to nothing happens for an excruciatingly long time--and ends as a fascinating dialectic between following one's conscience or following the law. show more
This cunning and provocative Romanian film requires patience, but its rewards are many: It's hard to imagine how a scene in which a police captain barks an order to bring him a dictionary can be loaded with suspense, but, really, it is. show more
Police, Adjective has considerable power, and the issues it raises linger in the mind. show more
I understand what the director was trying to do. I understand all of it. But it doesn't make it good. Maybe if I was a pretentious critic who likes this movie because it is foreign and under the radar. This movie had no conflict and watching a man stand around and eat his dinner isn't making a *************** called bad filmmaking. Anyone who in their right mind would not find this movie entertaining. Nothing happens the whole movie and I'm not exaggerating. It's hands down the most boring movie I've ever seen. Nobody should see this and Romania should not be allowed to make movies ever again.
Vcmdre..I only wish I had read your review before I went. I don't believe there is a movie out there that is this bad.
"Thrilling"? Is watching paint dry compelling? "The power of visuals" ? More like the force of ambiem. I want my 2 hours and money back. Really, bad. Save yourself!
