Latest on Something Borrowed
No matter where we turn, pop culture is being taken over by weddings. Just when we thought all the Kate-William hubbub finally died down, the box office got hit this weekend with a one-two punch of 'Something Borrowed' and 'Jumping the Broom.' And then...
It's hammer time. No one could touch 'Thor' at the box office this weekend. The hammer-wielding thunder god debuted at No. 1 with an estimated $66 million, about as much as the rest of the top five combined. 'Thor' didn't open as big as some other Marvel...
This Week in 1941: 'Citizen Kane' Sleds Into History 'Citizen Kane' may or may not be the greatest movie ever made, but it's almost surely the greatest cautionary tale ever to come out of Hollywood. Released 70 years ago this week (on May 1, 1941), 'Kane'...

Sigh...where do I begin? Just saw this on DVD, and in spite of funny dialogue and good acting, this movie doesn't work. Rachel may have made the... ce she did if she were 16, but c'mon man! She's 30. Hotness will not sway her the way it did. At 30, you want a guy who has seen you at your worst and still wants to be around you. A friend and confidante who tells you what you need to hear and not what you want to hear. And if he happens to be attractive and hilarious, slam dunk! But this is the life of little brown-haired girls in movies. They always get away with murder (Rachel sleeps with her best friend's fiance). There's a little cafuffle, but in the end butter won't melt in her mouth. And her best friend (Kate Hudson) is a slut who thinks nothing of straying. Convenient plot device but totally implausible. No way she'd cheat on Dex, who is super hot and gets her motor running. The ending left me cold. Rachel is sneaky, immature and whiny. Dex is spineless. Darcy is unrealistically out-of-control. And Ethan (John Krasinski) is the guy of every 30-year-old woman's dreams. Darcy's revulsion at the thought of Ethan and Rachel hooking up is ridiculous. Full Review
This movie makes no sense. How can all the guys like an ugly girl and fool around with your best friends fiance? No moral values regardless. I'm... ly giving it a one star because it is unrealistic for all the guys to fall in love with an ugly girl that's no better than any of the other women characters. She might be smart but ugly, Why do they write such a stupid movie like this? Should every one else fool around and fall in love with their best friends finance? I don't think so! Dumb movie. My husband and I saw this movie when it first opened in spite of the critics' reviews. Not only were we pleasantly surprised, we spoke about the... k long after it was over. The chemistry between the lead characters is spot on - a true joy to watch. Ordered the Blu-ray and am looking forward to having a movie day with friends tomorrow. Full Review
Awful bloody film. Rarely do I find myself rooting AGAINST the main characters of a RomCom.
Fun love story. While the movie had a predictable end, there were several times during the movie where you didn't think so. Great to see Colin... sfield (former AMC cast member) on the big screen. He is great looking, good actor, and has great presence on the BIG screen. I hope to see him in other movies. Kate Hudson's character was a little annoying and over the top, but I still enjoyed the movie. I would recommend it. Full Review
