  • Talk about beating a dead orc. In dutifully completing his prequel trilogy to his three-part Lord of the Rings triumph, director Peter Jackson has sadly saved the worst for last. show more

  • As Bilbo, Freeman is a pleasure to watch to the extent we get to watch him. His timing is brilliant — he gets the movie’s only laughs. He has tremendous sensitivity and an ability to seem like he’s about to say something — and then convey it without saying it. He could have made a great Bilbo. Instead he’s the one thing that has made this trilogy bearable. show more

  • Now, thanks to this last film, in 3-D, the pleasure is intense, and mixed with awe. There is majesty here, and not just because we’re in the presence of magnificently regal madness. show more

love the genere and the brand but the autistic director mr j ruins it as usual. a few moments shine that are few and BRIEF. movie is so colorless its like greyscale. this director loves to focus on closeups of characters faces, and diologue while dismissing interesting landcapes and objects. all 6 movies these same morons never learned THAT WIZARDS ARE WIZARDS BECUZ THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO CAST SPELLS AND USE MAGIC- AGAIN GANDALF CASTS NOT 1 SPELL JST MELEE FITES ORCS, WOW!!!!!!! lots of plot holes and iincongruencies too . a very lazy production from lazy minds. waste of a billion dollars. the vintage animated films are better.this is the worst of the three. I knew it would go downhill when they killed the best character, she dragon, within the first ten minutes. The movies is so colorless it's like greyscale. I hope someday a smarter director remakes these again as a cgi animated film instead!
