In a year of craptaculars, The Tourist deserves burial at the bottom of the 2010 dung heap. It offers talented people trapped in creative inertia. A microscope and a search party could not discover any trace of chemistry between Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. show more

There are all kinds of bad movies in the world, but it's really only stardom that can create the exact variety of cinematic abortion we find in The Tourist. show more

It may be the only movie ever to feature a bad performance by Johnny Depp, one of the best actors working in films. show more

    Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal

This woefully botched mystery-adventure-thriller-caper-romance-comedy, or whatever it was meant to be, is no fun at all. show more

    Steven Rea Philadelphia Inquirer

An alarmingly charmless attempt to evoke the elegant romance and jaunty, jet-setting intrigue of the aforementioned titles, The Tourist is notable for the total absence of movie-star heat that movie stars are paid unseemly sums to radiate. show more

Goes about its game so bloodlessly, the result is some of the most unexciting action and seduction sequences in recent memory. show more

    Todd McCarthy The Hollywood Reporter

Staggeringly misjudged in virtually every department, from the wannabe effervescent script to Johnny Depp's dopey hairdo. show more

An awkward jumble of half-assed thriller and lumbering romantic comedy, less competent by a wide margin than "The Lives of Others." It's also a whole lot sillier, though not in a good way. show more

If Elise and Frank are opaque to each other, they're opaque for a reason, as, sadly, lovers sometimes are. (Come to think of it, this picture has more in common with "The Lives of Others" than you might expect.) show more

As preposterous wannabe Hitchcockian thrillers go, this one is adequate. show more

I have seen 24 of Johnny Depp\'s movies but my favorites by far are The Tourist (seen a minimum of 17 times) and Benny and Joon (seen a minimum 0f 10 times). I also liked Charley and the Chocolate Factory, Public Enemy, Pirates of the Carribean, and Rango. I did not however like Fear and Loathing (the F word) or Sweeney Todd but as long as there is a Jack Sparrow around Brad Pitt can take a back seat on the bus. I am 72 but Johnny Depp is my all time favorite no matter what he puts his talents into.

Loved Depp in this. Twist at the end made it a better movie than it actually was but I would watch it again. Imagine that, Depp with no eye-liner!! lol

I was prepared to be disappointed...I was, but, only mildly. I'm not a Depp fan; wanted to be, but he just continues to take those weirdo parts. He did a very good job here, though. Jolie played Jolie, and as usual, very well. An interesting story with a contrived twist ending that left me feeling cheated. ************; don't buy it.

Zzzzzzzzzzzz... I tend to watch ALL movies but this one felt like I was reading an instruction manual for work. Awful! I kept waiting for the movie to improve but this could not compete with late night QVC specials.
