Chittor V. NagaiahÂ (bornÂ Vuppaladadiyam Nagayya, Telugu: à°µà±à°ªà±à°ªà°²à°¦à°¡à°¿à°¯à°‚ à°¨à°¾à°—à°¯à±à°¯) was a multilingualÂ Indian filmactor, composer, director, producer, writer andÂ playback singerÂ fromÂ Andhra Pradesh,Â India. Indian film journalist and the editor of Film India,Â Baburao Patel, described Nagiah as â€˜TheÂ Paul MuniÂ of Indiaâ€™.
Â Â Nagaiah has acted in about 200Â Telugu films, and 160 films in Tamil,Â Kannada,Â MalayalamÂ andÂ Hindi. He was one of the first south Indian actors, to be honoured with theÂ Padma ShriÂ by the Government of India in 1965.
