Choi Seung-yoon Biography

Choi Seung-yoon is a South Korean actor renowned for his extensive work as a character actor, frequently appearing in supporting and guest roles across various television dramas and films. He is recognized for his commanding presence and his ability to skillfully shift between genres, often playing highly professional, mysterious, or complex secondary characters.

Choi Seung-yoon’s career is distinguished by his consistent and active participation in some of the most highly-rated and critically acclaimed Korean dramas. While he often takes on roles that drive the subplot or appear as significant guest characters, his performances consistently leave a memorable impression on viewers and critics alike. He gained notice for playing the chilling character Kim Min-suk in the crime drama Life on Mars (2018), a role that highlighted his ability to portray intense, high-stakes figures.

This led to similar roles, such as the prosecutor "Tak" in Delightfully Deceitful (2023) and Dr. Suk Min-Joon in the sci-fi thriller Train (2020). Choi Seung-yoon has made impactful appearances in globally popular dramas, including playing an NIS agent in the final episodes of Crash Landing on You (2019-2020) and the brief, but memorable, role as Chae Song-Hwa's ex-boyfriend in the opening episodes of the hit medical series Hospital Playlist (2020).

In recent years, he has continued his streak of supporting roles, appearing in major series such as Uncle (2021-2022), the sports romance drama Love All Play (2022), and, most recently, The Atypical Family (2024), where he played the recurring character, Jo Ji-Han. While largely known for his television work, Choi Seung-yoon has also taken on feature roles.

Notably, he played the co-lead character of Audrey in the tvN Drama Stage one-act show, My Uncle is Audrey Hepburn (2019), demonstrating his depth beyond standard supporting roles. His film work includes appearances in Love Clinic (2015) and Phantom Detective (2016).
