David V. Teng

David V. Teng Biography

David V. Teng aka Jet is an American writer, director, and actor of Asian and French descent from Oakland, CA. He's been in love with films since childhood; his initial sparks came from seeing Batman Returns, Star Wars, Terminator 2, M:I, The Matrix, Goldeneye, and Heat at a drive in theatre with his parents as a child. At age 14, he wrote his first three screenplays.

In his early 20's, after a combination of some film school and self-taught methods, he pursued acting and also made a plethora of short films as well. At age 23, he made his first indie feature Nowhere Johnny -- a neo-noir crime film, an homage to four influential filmmakers for him growing up in Martin Scorsese, Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino, and Michael Mann.

In his 30's, he made his second indie feature Take Good Care, a horror noir film in which he wrote during the pandemic. It was inspired by Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, John Carpenter's Halloween, French New Wave films (especially Le Samouraï and Contempt), and a plethora of Italian Giallo horror films. These days, David has scripts in development with producers and is actively working as an actor.

His most influential actors are Bruce Lee, Robert De Niro, Uma Thurman, and Keanu Reeves. In a nutshell, he genuinely loves film and he hopes to entertain people for many years to come as both an actor and filmmaker.
