Jack Henry Calverley Biography
Jack Henry Calverley is a pillar of the Mount Pleasant Michigan independent film scene. Hailing from Riverdale Michigan, he is the proprietor of ALRIGHT/BRAINLESS PRODUCTIONS (2019), which produces many independent films. Chief among those films is MOUNT PLEASANT (2023), Eye of the Beholder (2021), Judgement (2021), and The Maintenance Man (2021). Jack describes the common theme across all of the works that he creates as being about love.
Going to school at Central Michigan University, Jack honed his skills in the Broadcast/Cinematic arts department. He’s worked on many professional and personal projects related to his coursework. In addition to developing his directing skills and filmmaking prowess, he is also a talented musician, which is quite the set of skills. Most of his films include original scores created himself, which gives his body of work a very unique feeling and creates an identity for him as a director.
Musically, Jack was the founder and leading member of the noise rock outfit TV VIOLENCE (2019-2021) and currently is the co-founder and member of the noise/industrial/shoegaze/emo band BEAMS with co-founder Dietrich Mueller. Jack’s greatest strength is his passion for cinema. He devotes his life to uplifting aspiring filmmakers in the area and has great integrity in how he runs film sets.
He consistently works with other filmmakers in his area, such as Christian Grant and Alex Adam. His actors and crew are well cared for, and this is evident in the quality of the films that he produces. Put simply, Jack loves film. -Diamond Neph
