Crime 101 Review
The Heat Is On In Derivative Yet Still Entertaining ‘Crime 101’. Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry headline the stacked cast of ‘Crime 101,’ a moody heist thriller that wants to be epic and occasionally gets there. ‘Crime 101’ really wants to be Michael Mann’s ‘Heat’ (and maybe some of his ‘Thief’ as well). Not that there’s anything wrong with that; epic crime thrillers are few and far between these days, and writer-director Bart Layton’s 140-minute L.
A.-based drama has a lot of the scope and a glittering cast to make a run at it.
