Never has a James Bond film villain looked as beautiful as Jessica Chastain, but that doesn't stop the Oscar-nominated actress from wishing for the dream role.

"One of my goals is to play a villain in a Bond film," she revealed to W magazine. "People ask me if I want to be a Bond girl, and I say, 'No, I want to be the villain.' I'm waiting for that call!"

Going against what's expected of her is a theme in her career. Chastain, as an actress, is unpredictable. She's gone from period films, sci-fi, comedy, drama to animation.

"It did confuse people," Chastain said of a range of her films in 2011. "I would hear, 'Who is the real Jessica?' a lot. I think of versatility as a good thing, but it does make it difficult for audiences to know you."

Still, she's aware that her male cohorts have a different set of rules to play by.

"They rarely say that about men," Chastain said. "They never worry about 'knowing' them."
