On the heels of "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" earning an impressive $57 million in its opening weekend, the fourth chapter of the assassin franchise has been set.

Lionsgate announced a release date for "John Wick 4." The studio texted fans: "You have served. You will be of service. John Wick: Chapter 4 is coming - May 21, 2021."

Keanu Reeves returns in "Parabellum" as the titular hitman, now retired, who has a $14 million bounty on his head. He is targeted by the world's most dangerous killers and fights his way through the streets of New York.

In its opening haul, "Parabellum" has already made more than the full run of the first film. It also dethroned "Avengers: Endgame" from its top spot at the box office for three weeks running.

The details of "John Wick 4" have not been revealed, but [SPOILERS AHEAD] the hitman will have to recover from being shot and thrown off the roof of a building before seeking revenge against the High Table.

“People ask me this all the time, am I ending the movie for a cliffhanger? Is there a number four it’s headed for?,” director Chad Stahelski told IndieWire. “Keanu [Reeves] and I have never, from one to two, two to three, ever expected to do a sequel or a follow-up.”

He added, “John may survive all this shit, but at the end of it, there’s no happy ending."
