It was just Sandra Bullock, Billy Bob Thornton and a talking bird on their first encounter. Though it sounds like scene from a pirate film, it actually happened in real life. But, the "Our Brand Is Crisis" costars (minus the bird) can't figure out why the odd scenario occurred in the first place.

"I've never worked with him, but we cannot remember why, but I was in his house at some point--a long time ago," she said, "just he and I in his house and mine-a-bird. He had this talking bird and all I remember is the bird in Billy's house, and I cannot remember why I was there. And, this was during the day and I was completely sober."

When it came to her costar, Sandra sort of initially suffered from the don't-judge-a-book-by-its-cover syndrome.

"He's the nicest guy. You think he wants to shank you, but he, actually, is the nicest guy," she told Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show" on Wednesday. "He listens, that's what freaks me out."

Bullock said Thorton would give a silent, yet intense stare as she spoke.

"He wants to have me killed," she remembered thinking, "but he doesn't. He just listens and then he responds. He's a very good guy."
