If I was given three wishes I would use one to never allow John Ridley to make another film. This movie was close to being unwatchable. Jimi Hendrix and Andre Benjamin, how do you screw that up? Oh, I know, John Ridley.

If there's such a thing as too artsy, this film is it. The casting and performances were great, particularly Andre Benjamin's. The part of of Hendrix's life that was covered made the film interesting. However, beginning and ending the film in this obscure interval of Hendrix's life made this Jimi experience like great sex that ends prematurely.
