Divorced and discredited American anthropologist Dempsey (Ted Danson) arrives in Scotland to debunk the legend of the Loch Ness lake monster. The scientific mission soon turns into much more. For a low budget, non sensationalized film, this was quite charming. It maintained a nice balance between the mystical and the rational. Ted Hanson was believeable in his low key acting and Joely Richardson and the others gave very professional performances. I could only have wished that the movie showed more shots of beautiful Scotland. It was more a short story than a novel. While suitable for older children, it was also pleasing for adults. Well done on a difficult subject.
